Man busted for having a weed plantation but turned out to be tomatoes

A local man from Minnesota was busted by police yesterday because he had an illegal plantation in his house’s garage.

For a long time, the police actively tracked him, because everything suggested that he had an illicit farm of marijuana. It started when they were alerted by the electric light company that a high electricity consumption had been identified. So the police began their investigation about it. They discovered that the convict had stealed streetlight and they applied for a warrant to search his house and arrest him. Once the consequence of a court order had been accepted, they placed him under arrest. Searching the house and finding out that it was an illegal tomato crop rather than weed as planned was a disappointment. But he claimed in his defence that tomatoes are very expensive, so he was force to grow it indoors. He had bought a secondhand growth kit in Walmart which enabling it to have at home up to 238 plants.

Finally, guy was a $1500 fined for stealing power. Furthermore, he did not receive any complaints against him because the USA does not specifically ban indoor crops of fruits or vegetables.
